You can really get a free satellite TV system from Dish Network and DIRECTV dealers!
Now is absolutely the best time to get a satellite TV system. Why? Because the main satellite TV providers will give you the equipment you need. All you pay for is the monthly fee for the channels you want.
And that's not all. You don't even need to know how to hookup all the satellite dish equipment. Most dealers will come to your house (or apartment) and hook it up for you...free of charge! That's pretty exciting considering only a few years ago this type of satellite dish system would have cost you hundreds of dollars.
But wait, there's more as they're fond of saying on those TV commercials. Most satellite dish dealers will also throw in extra bonuses. The promotions change from time to time, but often you can get 3 months free programming. Sometimes you can get a great deal on one of those personal video recorders (PVR). Perhaps you've heard of TiVo. That's the most popular PVR. You basically tell it what shows you like and it will automatically find out when they're on and record them for you. You'll never miss a show again.
If you're wondering "what's the catch?", click here to find out. I'll tell you. It's this: the satellite TV equipment isn't yours. If you go with a free system, then the satellite system companies are only letting you use the equipment, while they retain ownership. There's really no charge for you to have it, but if you decide to stop your service, an installer (or should I say de-installer) will be back to your house to remove the equipment. You also need to be a first time subscriber to the service and have to sign up for a year of programming. Not really a "catch", I suppose, just the basic requirements of getting a free satellite TV system. Seems pretty reasonable, don't you think?
The main satellite TV system providers are DirecTV and Dish Network. They both offer comparable services, though there are some differences. I've put together a run down of the main features of each on a satellite TV comparison page to guide you in selecting the right satellite TV system.
